The Adult Caregiver Training Institute (ACTI) was established in August 2007 as an in-house training program to meet the apparent shortage of trained caregivers at the Alert Adult Care Homes in Arizona. The facility training was subsequently expanded to provide vocational training to the public as a service to the health care community. Our classroom training program has been very successful and expanded to provide online and correspondence training that could be accessible to aspiring caregivers and managers outside the metropolitan areas of Arizona. The success of our training model is based on the adult learner-centered teaching philosophy involving the implementation of multiple learning styles.
The owners and managers of ACTI are seasoned and experienced educators and professionals in health care management who hold Masters and Doctorate degrees. ACTI is approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services the Arizona Board of Nursing care Administrators and Facility Managers and licensed by the Arizona Board of Private Postsecondary Education.
Future
Goals
The future goals of ACTI are to consolidate and expand the Caregiver/Manager training programs, and extend our successful training model of entry-level health workers to other health care professions. Towards this end, ACTI has initiated the process of a merger with the Providence Training Institute to offer programs to train Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician and Patient Care Technician.
